Het is in een constante zoektocht naar kwaliteit en met de steun van hooggekwalificeerde en toegewijde teams dat de familie Bonnie met passie de wijnen van Malartic ontwikkelt. Vintage na vintage, drukken de wijnen van Châteaux Malartic-Lagravière op briljante wijze de nobelheid en identiteit van hun terroirs uit.
De 2023 jaargang van de Malartic Lagraviere Pessac-Léognan Grand Cru Classé is een blend van 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot en 1% Cabernet Franc, heeft aroma's uit van donkere wilde bessen, viooltjes, moerbeien, kruiden en zoethout, aangevuld met een delicate toets van eikenhout. Medium tot vol, soepel en elegant met heldere zuren en een delicaat middenpallet,. De 2023 is een klassieke uitdrukking van dit landgoed.

The 2023 Malartic Lagravière, a blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc, exudes aromas of dark wild berries, violet, mulberries, spices and licorice, complemented with a delicate touch of oak. Medium to full-bodied, supple and elegant with bright acids and a delicate mid-palate, it’s refined and less structured than the 2022 vintage, making it a classic expression from this estate.

The 2023 Malartic Lagravière is a beautifully poised, elegant wine. It is perhaps not as exuberant as many wines in this vintage, and yet all the elements are very nicely balanced. I find the interplay of rich, heady flavors, aromatics and classicism to be intriguing. It will be interesting to see where this goes, but I like the direction. Lifted floral top notes add to an impression of understated finesse.

Ch. Malartic Lagravière is samen met Ch. Smith Haut Lafitte, Dom. de Chevalier en Ch. Haut Bailly één van de koplopers binnen de appelatie Pessac Léognan. Dankzij de Belgische eigenaar Alfred-Alexandre Bonnie, die immens investeerde, en de adviezen van Michel Rolland is de cru spectaculair verbeterd de laatste 5 jaar. Het magnifieke terroir gelegen in het hartje van Léognan speelt hierbij uiteraard ook een grote rol.
