Description
The Encruzado Reserva Quinta da Falorca consists for 95% of the most beautiful white grape from the DaƓ - the Encruzado. This grape has the ability to maintain an almost perfect balance of sugars and acidity. It produces dry, fruity and aromatic wines and is one of Portugal's top white grape varieties. This grape has an extraordinary aging potential and we see that with this white wine from Quinta da Falorca because this wine can remain in your cellar or wine fridge until 2033 without any problems. The wine has matured in new French oak and has a perfect alcohol percentage of 13%, which makes the wine elegant. The wine gets beautiful oxidative tones with ageing.
This is a fine Encruzado, persistent and focused, with good acidity and concentration. The oak here is supportive and not dominating so this also retains its purity. This Branco from Portugal has developed beautiful aromas of roses, violets, but also of lemon and minerality. The richness is impressive and due to the great acidity there is always a nice tension with a good spiciness. The Encruzado Reserva is an impressive white wine with a great price/quality ratio.
This is a unique magnum version in a beautiful gift box. 93/100 Parker

The 2018 Encruzado Reserva Quinta da Falorca (it also has 5% Malvasia, only because some Malvasia vines are sprinkled in the field blend) was partly (only 10%) aged for two months in new French oak, the rest in stainless steel. It comes in at 13% alcohol. Impressive in mouthfeel, this shows good concentration to go with its freshness and fine finish. The spicy finish is very tasty too. This has the chance to age very wellāthe producer is even more bullish than I amāand it will also improve over the next several years. This winery that I've always thought of as a red wine giant has suddenly become a fine producer of Encruzado as well. This vintage is a fine example. There were 6,544 bottles produced.
One of the region's highest-quality boutiques, this winery produces only about 70,000 bottles per year. I love their structured and expressive reds in particular.

Located in Pindelos or Silgueiros, Quinta da Falorca is the reference model and top wine house from the Portuguese DĆ£o. No volumes but only quality. It is therefore quite difficult to get a Quinta da Falorca and especially their high-end wines. This is due to a number of factors, namely:
- unprecedented fine wines
- made in very small quantities
- and still very affordable
Quinta da Falorca is one of the secret heroes of the international wine world: winegrowers such as the quality-striving Carlos Figueiredo, who values his native DĆ£o and the local terroir, but also produces world-class wines. Among his wines, wine lovers will find the individuality that is often lost in times of increasing globalization of the wine taste: authentic, traditionally prepared wines with a radiant regional character, made from indigenous grape varieties in a limited edition.
