Wines from Portugal are very much on the rise, and rightly so. It's a very old wine country, and the price-quality ratio is often unparalleled. For less than half the price of an Italian or French wine, you can often find better quality. This package contains 6 wines from different regions of Portugal, each with its own distinct climate. The wines are, of course, from renowned wineries and made with typical Portuguese grapes. This allows you to taste the beautiful wines that come from Portugal, as well as the differences between the various regions.

The Colheito from Casal das Freiras has a lively fresh ruby red color. In the nose fresh aromas of red fruit and vegetal notes and very slightly a bit of tobacco. In the mouth the wine is medium bodied and elegant in taste with firm tannins and a balanced acidity. In our opinion this is an ideal wine for on the terrace (just cool it a bit as they do in Portugal), with the BBQ, Spareribs or a well-made Hamburger on the Green Egg or delicious as a standalone glass with good company. The Colheito Tinto is such a wine with a very good price / quality ratio that you have to pay double for in France or Italy so the motto is certainly to try the Portuguese wines before the prices rise here as we are currently seeing in Spain.
The T-NAC is made from the typical Portuguese top grape Touriga Nacional and comes from 31 different clones of more than 40 years old vines. The T-Nac has a deep red color with intense flavors of National Touriga, with its famous expression. It has a floral bouquet, excellent structure with firm and elegant tannins very well balanced with the oak. This is a modern, complex and intense wine full of ripe fruit, lively acidity and a finish that lingers on the palate. The Wine Advocate writes about this wine: ".......It's a super T-nac now" and writes about Falorca: "One of the region's highest-quality boutiques, this winery produces only about 70,000 bottles per year. I love their structured and expressive reds in particular"
The Calem Ruby port is made from 30% Tinta Roriz, 30% Tinta Barroca, 20% Tinto Cao and 20% Touriga Franca. Beautiful bouquet of red berries with an authentic fruit flavor.
The grapes for the Casal das Freiras Colheita Branco are, as with all their wines, completely hand-picked with a first selection in the vineyard. The grapes are completely destemmed and gently crushed after which they ferment for a long period in stainless steel tanks. After fermentation, the wine matures for approximately 4-6 months in stainless steel on its lees (sur lie). The Casal das Freiras Colheita Branco is one of the wines for which Casal das Freiras has become known in the region. It is a classic wine made from the Fernão Pires grape and Sauvignon Blanc, resulting in a fragrant wine with great freshness with fruity and floral aromas, some freshly mown grass and a bit of citrus. The Colheita Branco is a beautiful aperitif and delicious with lightly spiced snacks or with fried fresh sardines.
The herdade do Sobroso Sobro Branco is a blend of the typical Portuguese grapes Antão Vaz, Arinto, Verdelho and the Palomino grape. The grapes were picked by hand. The fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats with a controlled temperature for 30 days after which it can further mature on its own lees. The Blanco Sobro (or Branco in Portuguese) has a straw yellow color and is very clear. This Portuguese white wine is wonderfully fresh in taste, fresh aromas of citrus and passion fruit. The wine is a very elegant wine and is a good balance between the fruit and the acids. A delicious glass for just like that and highly recommended with shellfish and white fish with some spiciness.

The Herdade do Sobroso Reserva Tinto (Barrique Select) is a blend of Tempranillo (Aragonez), Trincadeira, Alicante Bouschet and Alfrocheiro, so it is Portuguese through and through. The grapes were picked by hand and transported to the winery for fermentation maceration in stainless steel (temperature controlled) for 21 days. The wine then matured for 12 months in 500 liter oak barrels. It is a very full red wine, intense red in color. In the nose it is a complex wine with aromas of blackcurrants, jam and chocolate. Very nice and long aftertaste. The Sobroso Reserva is a beautiful wine with spicy dishes such as lamb, pork belly, stews and mature cheeses.
