The Cielo family founded the family vineyard Cielo (family name) e terra (earth) in 1908. The bond between the earth and the Cielo family originated in the Valle del Tiepo on their estate Casa Defra. Giovanni Cielo's established vineyard immediately started to bear fruit. The second generation joined in the 1930s and further developed the family business. Pietro Cielo (son of Giovanni) had a great affinity with the earth and was determined to continue with the family tradition and commitment to social issues. The third generation enthusiastically continues the family business.
