A red dessert wine with low in the alchol and a bubble !! Yes, this beautiful Montaribaldi Dolce Birbet is sometimes called the red Moscato. The wine is made by the famous house Monbtaribaldi and is made from the Brachetto grape. The Brachetto is a red grape variety that has been cultivated in Piedmont for centuries, and whose wine was even exported in the past. However, it is not an easy-to-grow grape, and following the phylloxera epidemic, many canes have been replaced on a large scale by other varieties that are 'easier' to grow. we see a further revaluation and expansion
The area where wine from the Bracheto is made by Montaribaldi is the Roero, where the local variant of this wine is called the "Birbet". The wine is made by stopping the fermentation before all sugar has been fermented into alcohol and that also explains the low low alcohol content of only 5%. The way of making wine shows many similarities with that of the Moscato d'Asti, so that the Brachetto or Birbet also known as the "red Moscato".
The Montaribaldi Rosso Birbet Dolce is a sparkling, sweet and aromatic red (desert) wine. The wine has striking floral notes of geranium and rose petals, and a lot of red fruit, in particular strawberries and raspberries, but also a nice acidity. The wine is creamy with light persistent refined bubbles. The wine is clear and cherry red in the glass. An ideal companion for a multitude of deserts such as chocolate, a sorbet, a strawberry cake or ice cream.

The 'azienda agricola Montaribaldi' is historically a family business, located in the middle of the Langhe hills in the small village of Barbaresco. The Montaribaldi winery has been owned by the Taliano family from the beginning and has 19 hectares in the Barberesco area. In 1994 Luciano and Roberto took over the company from their father and immediately decided to only produce high quality wines. It is still a real family business, father Guiseppe and mother Carla as well as the wives of the owners, Antonella and Franca all cooperate. At present they produce about 75000 bottles a year. Thanks to the perfect location of the vineyards of Montaribaldi and the typical white soil of the hills in Langhe, the elegant wines that come from them have a long life. Note that the land around the Montaribaldi vineyards is from Gaja. The family makes some of the most famous wines from the Piedmont region: Barbaresco DOCG, Barolo DOCG, Barbera d'Alba DOC, Barbera d'Asti DOCG, Roero Arneis. They offer a complete range of wines, from grapes typical of this region. Typical of this winery is that the wines have their origin in Piedmont, are always recognizable as a 'Montaribaldi' wine and are sustainably grown and produced. As they call it themselves: making 'vineyard wines' distinguishes them from others.
