The Sierra Cantabria XF is a new limited edition Rosé of which only exclusive importers receive just a handful of cases, as only a few thousand bottles of this wine are produced. It is a magnificent rosé full of tradition, personality, and values. XF stands for Xandra Falcó, 14th Marquess de Mirabel, daughter of 5th Marquess de Griñón Carlos Falcó.

Xandra knew the long journey of Marcos and Miguel's winemaking, but it was only two years ago that her uncle Fernando Falcó (Marques de Cubas), a board member at Viñedos y Bodegas Sierra Cantabria, organized a visit to La Rioja. The bond that was forged that day marked the birth of a new alliance, and Xandra shared her dream of making a great rosé wine, and the Eguren brothers thought it was a great idea!

They reached a joint agreement on the design and character of the desired rosé: freshness, delicacy, persistence, complexity, high quality and ... a completely new wine from Marcos and Miguel on the way. Thus SIERRA CANTABRIA XF was born, an extraordinary wine seeking harmony, balance, creaminess, delicate floral notes and the characteristic freshness of a miraculous rosé.

The grapes come from their own vineyards located in San Vicente de la Sonsierra. As with all wines from the Egure family, this is done using environmentally friendly integrated viticulture with the utmost respect for the terroir and entirely in accordance with the plant's biorhythm. The XF Rosé is a blend of Garnacha (30%), Sauvignon Blanc (30%), Viura (20%), Maturana (5%), Tempranillo Blanco (10%), and Tempranillo (5%). All white varieties undergo maceration for 6 days and are then combined with the red varieties. For a rosé, the grapes remain on the skins for a long time (which lends the wine complexity and healthy flavonoids). The wine continues to ferment at a very low temperature and remains on its lees for an extended period.

The Sierra Cantabria FX has a very light salmon pink color, as we know from Provence rosés, but is super elegant and complex with everything in balance. Fresh red fruit combined with beautiful acidity, good minerality, and freshness make this a great glass, which can become even more intense with some aging.

This is a beautiful 1.5-liter magnum bottle - Even tastier and more festive

The Spanish winery Sierra Cantabria was founded in 1957 by Guillermo Eguren and is one of Hermanos Eguren's beautiful wineries. Sierra Cantabria is located in the Rioja in a unique location between the River Ebro and the Sierra Cantabria mountain range. The Sierra Cantabria Mountains (1200m.) And the River Ebro (350m.) Provide a special microclimate with Mediterranean and continental features - mild winters and mild summers, unique to wine growing.
On the other hand, the thermal summer jump (intense heat during the day with fresh night temperatures) increases the polyphenol content, which makes for excellent quality wines with a distinctive character.

The vineyards of Bodega Sierra Cantabria are mainly located in the towns of San Vicente de la Sonsierra, Labastida and Laguardia, an area very well known for wine growing.
The Tempranillo variety predominates, along with small amounts of Garnacha, Viura and 'Hairy Tempranillo', all of which are grown in vineyards about 35 years old, although there are also plots up to 70 years old.The harvest is carried out by hand every year, paying special attention to the rigorous selection of the grapes that are the soul of the wine, in optimal condition and in perfect ripening conditions. The careful harvest is followed by a thorough separation of the bunches, which is done on a selection table at the entrance of the winery. Winemaking is aimed at minimal intervention in the winery to fully respect the character of the terroir
