To get straight to the point, the Sierra Cantabria Rosé is a wine with the character and identity of the Sonsierra region in Rioja. Exquisite freshness, intensity, and fruitiness. It offers perfect balance and acidity. In the glass, this is almost a Provence rosé and very light salmon-colored, yet it has wonderful aromatic notes of super fresh red fruit such as raspberry, a hint of strawberry, blueberry, and tart red cherry, while we also detect some spiciness and mineral notes. On the palate, the Sierra Cantabria rosé is very elegant and balanced. The wine is fruity but with good acidity and is pleasantly dry. An ideal wine that never gets boring and continues to surprise.
This beautiful rosé from the Eguren stable comes from their own vineyards located in San Vicente de la Sonsierra DO. Rioja. Sustainable cultivation is practiced (this applies to all wines from the Sierra Cantabria stable), meaning no chemical agents or pesticides are used, and only organic fertilizer is applied. The yield is 30 hl/ha, which is well below the permitted yield, thus prioritizing quality over quantity. This fantastic rosé is a blend of Viura (60%), Garnacha (35%), and Tempranillo (5%), which were hand-harvested. The first selection takes place in the vineyard, followed by a double selection on the sorting tables in the Bodega. Maceration for all three grapes lasts approximately 3 days, followed by controlled fermentation at 16 degrees Celsius with cold stabilization. This is not a rosé made in a hurry; it is truly a wine of flavor, elegance, and freshness. We also carry many well-known rosés from Provence, but we dare to say that (considering the price) there are very few that can match them.

The Spanish winery Sierra Cantabria was founded in 1957 by Guillermo Eguren and is one of Hermanos Eguren's beautiful wineries. Sierra Cantabria is located in the Rioja in a unique location between the River Ebro and the Sierra Cantabria mountain range. The Sierra Cantabria Mountains (1200m.) And the River Ebro (350m.) Provide a special microclimate with Mediterranean and continental features - mild winters and mild summers, unique to wine growing.
On the other hand, the thermal summer jump (intense heat during the day with fresh night temperatures) increases the polyphenol content, which makes for excellent quality wines with a distinctive character.
The vineyards of Bodega Sierra Cantabria are mainly located in the towns of San Vicente de la Sonsierra, Labastida and Laguardia, an area very well known for wine growing.
The Tempranillo variety predominates, along with small amounts of Garnacha, Viura and 'Hairy Tempranillo', all of which are grown in vineyards about 35 years old, although there are also plots up to 70 years old.The harvest is carried out by hand every year, paying special attention to the rigorous selection of the grapes that are the soul of the wine, in optimal condition and in perfect ripening conditions. The careful harvest is followed by a thorough separation of the bunches, which is done on a selection table at the entrance of the winery. Winemaking is aimed at minimal intervention in the winery to fully respect the character of the terroir
