Emilio Moro, from Ribera de Duero in the heart of the DO, is considered by other top producers to be one of the region's rising stars. With 70 hectares of Tinto Fino from old indigenous clones, Emilio Moro produces wines that excel in purity, elegance, and complexity.
Finca Resalso is the name of the historic vineyard planted in 1932, the year Emilio Moro, father of the third generation of the Moro family, was born. It is the most refreshing version of Emilio Moro's Tempranillo wines.

While you wait for Moro's "great" wines to reach their peak, you can already fully enjoy this fruity, youthful Tempranillo from Emilio Moro. In the glass, the wine has a cherry-red color with purple hues. On the nose, the aroma and intensity of the wine tantalize the senses. Pure fruit delight of strawberries, cherries, raspberries, licorice, and blackcurrant. The Finca Resalso is lively, with a spicy note and just the right amount of structure thanks to its four months of aging in French barriques. It is a very fine wine with a well-developed structure that makes it very pleasant to drink. The Resalso offers excellent value. This is a wonderful wine to pair with steaks, burgers, stews, and fine charcuterie.

1. Grilled lamb chops with rosemary and garlic
The wine's juicy fruit notes blend harmoniously with the rich meat. Rosemary and garlic enhance the spicy undertones and emphasize the robust structure.

2. Steak tartare with capers and shallots
The wine's fresh acidity cuts through the creamy egg yolk and softens the oily character. Capers and shallots complement the aromatic fruitiness.

3. Stuffed portobello mushrooms with goat cheese and spinach
Stuffed mushrooms add an earthy complexity that complements the ripe plum and cherry notes. The soft goat cheese adds extra balance and texture.

4. Homemade paella with chicken and chorizo
Rich in flavor and spice, this classic wine complements the full fruit expression and light oak. Chicken and chorizo enhance the wine's spiciness.

5. Vegetarian risotto with roasted red pepper and Parmesan
The sweet pepper and savoury cheese combine with the round fruit notes and crisp acidity, creating a light yet refined balance.
(a luxurious surprising combination)

6. Poached cod with lemon butter sauce and capers
The tender fish is made firm enough by the sauce. Citrus and capers accentuate the elegant acidity and light tannins.

The family business Emilio Moro has been located in Pesquera del Duero since 1892. This bodega boasts a three-generation tradition and includes vineyards over 90 years old. Due to their long history, they have been able to expand their vineyards very specifically with mostly Tinto Fino. The Finca Resalso and Crianza excel in purity, elegance and complexity. The top cuvées are of rare class; the very old vines of these two 'Pagos' give an extremely low yield resulting in very complex wines with a great depth and temperament.

In 1987 Emilio Moro first launched his own wines under his own label. With about 200 hectares of vineyards and a total annual production of 1.5 million bottles, it is a modern and large company. Thanks to its high quality standards and innovative management, it is also one of the leading wine companies. This applies not only in Spain but money worldwide and this is also confirmed that it has been nominated by Wine Enthusiast as Best Winery of the World. Emilio Moro's focus on Research, Development and Innovation is impressive and the enormous focus on quality is certainly an important factor in the high quality of all wines, but let's not forget that the old Emilio Moro vineyards are located in the most beautiful part of the Ribera del Duero with a completely unique and extremely suitable terroir located at a great height. In 2017, Wine Spectator placed the Emilio Moro in 59th place in the Prestigious Top 100 of the world's best wines.

In 2008, Emilio Moro died at the age of 75. In the same year, the Emilio Moro foundation was established, which is committed to providing poor regions of the world with clean drinking water and improving living conditions. Javier & José Moro are now in charge.

The emilio moro portfolio consists of 5 red wines, all of which are made from the regional variant of the Tempranillo (tinto fino). The special thing is that a very old pure clone is used. The vineyards range from 30-90 years old, but even the younger vineyards are from the lots of this unique clone. Emilio moro does not use the terms Crianza or Reserva and the name of the wine stands for the character of the wine.
