2024 Bodegas Vetus Flor de Vetus Verdejo

Bodegas Vetus has vineyards in the DO Toro but also in the DO Rueda) and belongs to the Grupo Artevino. Vetus comes from the Latin word veto - vetare, which means 'forbidden, not allowed'. The vineyards are located at an altitude of 810 to 930 meters in the northernmost zone of Rueda (Segovía). Here the harvest is three weeks later than in the rest of the DO . When you put the bottle in the fridge, you will notice that the butterfly on the label turns blue at 8°C.

The grapes for the Flor de Vetus Verdejo are first destemmed, selected and then fermented in stainless steel at a low temperature so that all the flavors have time to integrate. This top-notch Verdejo has a clear straw yellow color with green reflections in the glass as it should be (Ver = Green). This is a fresh white wine with intense and harmonious aromas and a rich fruit expression. Great scent expression of the Verdejo character: citrus, grassy, lime note, seductive exoticism in the background. The taste palette is a confirmation of the scent components: spicy acidity towards gooseberry, lively and crispy style interwoven with a ripe and juicy acidity and with a tight and mineral finish.
