In 2018, Patrick stepped in to manage the Domaine de la Pousse D'Or, replacing BenoƮt. Also an engineer by training, he shares the same vision of quality and aims to continue this quest for excellence! At ease with Shakespeare's language, he travels the world with an approach designed to share his passion for the great wines of Burgundy worldwide! Vines cultivated in biodynamic conditions, vinification using slow and natural methods, wines aged for 18 months on the lees, 12 of which in oak barrels, and a consistent and rigorous approach to quality work give the Pousse d'Or wines a great aptitude for aging.
The Domaine de La Pousse d'Or is distinguished by its 7 Grands Crus, 11 Premier Crus, including 3 monopoles, in the CƓte de Beaune and CƓte de Nuits. Offering the purest expression of our exceptional terroir has been the Domaine's obsession for centuries. Today, our biodynamic work in the vines, the long and gentle controlled vinification, accompanied by aging on the lees, contribute to respecting the exceptional balance and richness of the unique Pinot Noir grape varieties for the red wines and Chardonnay for the white wines, cultivated by the women and men of Domaine de la Pousse d'Or. The plots, representing approximately 17 hectares of vineyards, are located in the villages of Gevrey-Chambertin, Morey-Saint-Denis, Chambolle-Musigny, Flagey-AchƩzeaux, Aloxe-Corton, Pommard, Volnay, Puligny-Montrachet and Santenay.
The Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru from Domaine de la Pousse d'Or is one of the most prestigious white wines from Burgundy, specifically from the CƓte de Beaune. This wine is produced exclusively from 100% Chardonnay grapes grown on the high-altitude vineyards of Chevalier-Montrachet, directly above the famous Le Montrachet vineyard in the commune of Puligny-Montrachet. The vineyards are situated at an altitude of approximately 300 meters, with an easterly orientation that ensures optimal sun exposure. The thin, stony soils contribute to the wine's intense minerality.
In the glass, the La Pousse d'Or Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru is a bright golden yellow with greenish reflections. The nose offers complex aromas of white flowers, citrus fruits, and subtle notes of toasted almonds and vanilla. On the palate, the wine is rich and full-bodied, with a perfect balance of ripe fruit, minerality, and refreshing acidity. The finish is long and elegant, with lingering notes of honey and a hint of oak. This wine pairs perfectly with rich and delicate dishes such as poultry in creamy sauces, veal with mushrooms, foie gras, lobster, and langoustine.
