Description
In 1984, Baron de Ladoucette, a renowned winemaker from the Loire, bought the Régnard domain in Chablis. Step by step, Ladoucette improved the quality of this domain to today belong to the top in Chablis. Presented in a unique bottle, just like the Iconic Baron de L by Ladoucette, this Chablis is for the true enthusiast. The vines are all more than 30 years old and guarantee an elegant wine.
Its history goes back to 1860, but in 1984 Baron Patrick de Ladoucette also became owner here. The winery owns the most Grands Crus and Premiers Crus in all of Chablis. There are many Premiers crus in Chablis, but there are only seven Grand Crus in all of Chablis and all seven are from the Régnard winery. With respect for tradition, the Maison Régnard produces the 7 Grands Crus of Chablis (Les Clos, Bougros, Blanchots, Grenouilles, Preuses, Valmur and Vaudésir), the 5 most important Premiers Crus (Fourchaume, Montmains, Vaillons, Montée de Tonnerre and Mont de Environment), Chablis and Petit Chablis.
On October 30, 2017, the Vézelay was granted Appellation d'origine controlée status (AOC). The wine region is located just below the Chablis, the northern part of Burgundy. The soil is mainly limestone/marl and the Vézelay vineyards are located on the edge of the Morvan Regional Park, at an altitude of 300 meters above sea level. The most beautiful vineyards are located on the hill of Vézelay, which is called the "eternal hill". This vineyard dates back to Gallo-Roman times. At the end of the 9th century, the vineyard came to full development with the establishment of the Benedictine monastery.
The Chardonnay grapes for this Regnard Bourgogne are harvested manually. After the harvest, the grapes are carefully taken to the wine cellar, where they are destemmed and pressed after strict control and selection. Only the best juice is good enough to bear the Regnard label. That is why the grapes are strictly controlled. The alcoholic fermentation is carried out in thermoregulated steel vats. The malolactic fermentation takes place 2/3 in steel and 1/3 in wood. After a short maturation period, the Chardonnay is bottled and you can enjoy it. The Régnard Bourgogne Vézelay Les Clos has a straw yellow color with light green reflections. The nose has fresh citrus aromas such as lemon and grapefruit. Pure and fresh on the palate with a meaty texture, fruity aromas and a crisp finish.

Régnard is one of the oldest and most prestigious wineries in Burgundy. It was founded in 1860 by Zéphir Régnard and in 1984, Baron Patrick de Ladoucette took over the domain, restoring and perpetuating the style and tradition of the wines. Régnard produces 7 Grand Crus Chablis (Les Clos, Bougros, Blanchots, Grenouilles, Preuses, Valmur and Vaudésir), 5 Premier Crus (Fourchaume, Montmains, Vaillons, Montée de Tonnerre and Mont de Milieu), Chablis and Petit Chablis. In 1992, the Baron created a special cuvée called Grand Régnard, made from a selection of grapes from the best vineyards in Chablis, presented in a remarkably beautiful bottle, inspired by an old model from the 17th century.
