2019 Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse Lalande Pauillac

The 2019 Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande was harvested from September 16 to October 8. It has a stunning nose: intense black fruits infused with graphite and mint. (Whisper it softly... it reminds me of their Premier Cru neighbor.) The palate is supported by highly refined tannins that nurture perhaps the purest fruit of this vintage. Incredibly precise until the finish. The 2019 Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande evokes a feeling of real power, with enormous energy that gives the wine a dynamism that builds towards the finish. Time in the glass enhances the aromatic intensity of the Cabernets. Dark fruits, menthol, rose petals, licorice and grilled herbs all emerge over time. The 2019 Pichon Comtesse is a very serious wine that almost certainly has more to say with age.
