Description
The Tedeschi Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva la Fabriseria was born from Renzo Tedeschi's passion for good wine - as an authentic expression of the terroir - and from his determination to create something unique. It is produced from a selection of grapes from the Fabriseria vineyard on the hills of Valpolicella Classica between the communities of Fumane and Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella.
The wine is the absolute top model of Tedeschi and is made in very limited edition. Renzo Tedeschi wanted to create a wine with a great structure, characterized by an aromatic elegance but also with freshness and one that can age for a long time. From the birth of this wine in 1983, only a few vintages have been produced until today, all of which started out as exceptional and distinctive at harvest and then again after vinification.
The 2015 vintage is the successor to the 2011 and there is always only 1 barrel of this iconic wine.
The Tedeschi Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva la Fabriseria is a blend of 40% Corvina, 40% Corvinone, 15% Rondinella 5% Oseleta and these are dried in baskets in storage with controlled humidity for 4 months. The alcoholic fermentation and maceration is for 60 days (!!!) at a temperature of 15-18 ° C.
and with an aging for 4 years in a Slavonian oak oak and bottle aging for 1 year.
In the glass, the Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva la Fabriseria has a bright ruby red color. In the nose clear aging aromas such as roast notes, vanilla and tobacco along with red fruits such as red currants, raspberries and cherries. Notes of honey, raisins and alcohol make this very special and at the same time a classic Amarone. In the mouth, the wine shows harmony and balance. Full, with beautiful silky tannins and a long persistence and a long raisin and spicy finish. The aftertaste confirms the notes in the nose. This wine has an exceptionally long and persistent taste. The wine is very suitable for aging and can safely be kept in the cellar until 2050

This is a bruiser of a wine—but in a very good way. Loud and expressive and with a roundhouse 17% alcohol kick, the 2011 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva la Fabriseria throws out several different shades of smoke and spice within its thick quality of fruit. Super rich and full-bodied, you'll appreciate its bold character of toasted espresso bean and oak, presented alongside cola and cherry liqueur. The wine is like a gregarious but cuddly friend who is built like a tank and doesn't register his own strength. The blend is 40% Corvina, 40% Corvinone, 15% Rondinella and 5% Oseleta, all coming from the La Fabriseria vineyard located between San Giorgio di Valpolicella and Mazzurega in the Sant'Ambrogio valley, with vines at 500 meters above sea level. The grapes are dried for four months in a ventilated room. Since its birth, this wine has only been produced in the following vintages: 1983, 1988, 1995, 1997, 1998, 2005, 2007 and 2011. Starting with this 2011 vintage, the wine now carries the Riserva designation. You won't find many Amarones quite like this one, especially as only 2,500 bottles of this vintage were made.
The Tedeschi family has a few new tricks up its sleeve, including a new visitors' center and tasting room. With the 2015 vintage, they also have unveiled a new mid-to-top-level Amarone della Valpolicella called Marne 180 that retails for about $65 in the United States.

Tasting Note
A pure beam of crème de cassis and baked black cherry fruit flavors is accented by an enticing range of sandalwood, licorice and Earl Grey tea leaf notes in this finely meshed, medium- to full-bodied red. Long and mouthwatering, with a rich hint of fig cake and a tang of minerally iron playing on the lightly chewy finish. Drink now through 2031. 210 cases made, 30 cases imported. — AN
