Description
The Thierry Laffay Chablis Grand Cru Bougros 2005 is an exceptional white wine from Burgundy, produced by the family-owned Domaine Thierry Laffay. Founded in 1985, this estate manages 7 hectares of vineyards and is known for its dedication to quality and traditional wine-growing methods.
The Bougros vineyard is one of the seven climats of the Chablis Grand Cru appellation, located on the northwestern edge of the Grand Cru hillside. The vineyard covers almost 16 hectares and has a southwestern orientation, which ensures optimal sun exposure. The soil consists of Kimmeridgian limestone with a high clay content, which contributes to the round and less austere characteristics of the wines from this climat.
The 2005 vintage is characterised by exceptional density and volume, with subtle notes of walnuts and dried fruit. The wine offers a rare majesty, where elegance and refinement come together harmoniously. This Chablis Grand Cru is best served at a serving temperature of 12 to 14°C. It is an excellent accompaniment to foie gras, fish dishes with creamy sauces, grilled seafood and white meat in cream sauce. The minerality and liveliness of the wine also harmonise well with the salty notes of oysters.
