Een vintage met alle kenmerken van de grote jaren De frisheid en balans van de vintage worden gecombineerd met oogverblindend fruit en een fluweelachtige textuur. Deze vintage werd gekenmerkt door vrij extreme weersomstandigheden. Het voorjaar was bijzonder nat,
maar zacht weer eind mei-begin juni zorgde voor een goede bloei. juli bracht twee hittegolven, in beide gevallen gevolgd door gunstige regen. De zomer was zonnig met een klassieke Bordeaux augustus. Dankzij een fantastisch naseizoen konden de tannines van de Cabernets blijven rijpen en reiken de optimale rijpheid. De witte wijnen presenteren een uitzonderlijke kwaliteit. De koele augustus periode produceerde uitstekend uitgebalanceerde druiven die de aromatische profielen prachtig benadrukken.
De 2019 jaargang van de Malartic Lagraviere Pessac-Léognan Grand Cru Classé de Graves is een blend van 55,9% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41,3% Merlot en 2,8% Cabernet Franc. De Château Malartic-Lagravière Rouge heeft zeer complexe aroma's van donkere bessen, paddenstoelen, aarde, bloemen en wierook en wat minerale tonen. In de mond full bodied met zeer fijne, verfijnde tannines. De afdronk is heel, heel lang en persistent met subtiele en complexe smaken. Dit zorgt voor schoonheid gedurende decennia. Geef het nog beetje te tijd om verder te rijpen (vanaf 2025).

Aromas of raspberries, blackcurrants, charcoal and forest floor preface the 2019 Malartic Lagravière, a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and charming wine that's lively and elegant, built around bright acids and fine, powdery tannins. This has turned out nicely in bottle and shows good potential for improvement in the cellar.

The 2019 Malartic Lagravière is a showy, voluptuous wine. Racy and explosive, the 2019 certainly makes a strong first impression. Super-ripe dark cherry, plum, mocha, new leather, spice and licorice abound. As always, Malartic is a pretty forward, succulent Pessac-Léognan, but the 2019 is a bit strict today. Whether that is the vintage speaking or a slight change in style, we will see.

The 2019 Malartic Lagravière presents a refined nose of blackberry, raspberry, cedar and light estuarine aromas, very well defined and focused. The palate is framed by fine-grained tannins, and the pure blackberry and raspberry notes are laced with blood orange. Maybe just a little more granular in texture than before, but still wonderfully balanced, with great length and nobility. This will age with style. A sophisticated Pessac-Léognan with a lot of potential.

Bold and luscious to its core, the 2019 Malartic Lagravière certainly makes a statement. Raspberry jam, pomegranate, mint, blood orange, spice and dried flowers build as the 2019 shows off its generous curves and sumptuous personality. Malartic Lagravière is not exactly subtle, but it sure is delicious and so inviting.

The 2019 Malartic Lagravière was picked from 17 September to 11 October at 46hl/ha and sees 65% new French oak for an intended 18 months. It has a lovely bouquet with disarming blackberry, briary and subtle marine scents, just a whiff of brine in the background from the distant Gironde estuary. The palate is medium-bodied with extremely fine tannins that frame the layers of blackberry, raspberry and orange rind notes. Satin-like in texture, this feels reassuringly long in the mouth with a dab of white pepper on the aftertaste. What an outstanding Malartic from the Bonnie family. Tasted from three bottles.
