Description

The largest and most famous vineyards of Pouilly-Fumé have been owned by the Lafond and Ladoucette families since the 19th century. Pouilly-Fumé would even have been Napoleon's favorite white wine. In 1972, Baron Patrick de Ladoucette took the helm. His philosophy is to extract the very best from wines from individual vineyards that have enjoyed international recognition for over two hundred years.

Les deux tours is made by the famous house of Baron Patrick de Ladoucette, known for his famous Regnard Grand Chablis, the L as de Pouilly fumé de Ladoucette. Les deux tours is a traditional Loire Sauvignon, less "greenish" than a Pouilly fumé, because the more central appellation Touraine is already a bit warmer and a slightly fruitier style produces less tighter sauvignon blancs and, not unimportantly, substantially cheaper in terms of price. The wine is yellow-green, has a very expressive nose ranging from grapefruit to citrus notes and floral aromas. Nice acidity, lots of body, rich and round and a nice aftertaste.

Since the end of the eighteenth century, the Lafond family has owned the largest and most renowned vineyards of Pouilly Fumé. After a challenging period of the French Revolution, Comte Lafond's efforts are continued by his great-grandson Baron Patrick de Ladoucette. From more than 100 hectares of vineyards on silex soils and pure limestone soils in Pouilly Fumé and Sancerre, Ladoucette makes its best-known white wines, which are considered world references of Sauvignon wines.
