Description
Château la Négly is located in the Languedoc, on the banks of the Étang de Pissévache on the foothills of the La Clape Massif. Négly is owned by the Paux-Rosset family, and daughter Marion makes the wine, assisted by oenologist Claude Gros. The great diversity of soils, height difference and location (up to ten meters from the tide's edge!) ensures a great variety in style and strength, but there is one characteristic that unites all wines: great precision and a strong degree of minerality. The quality of Négly has not gone unnoticed by Parker: he has repeatedly given high ratings (up to 99 points) to various Négly wines!
The La Négly Clos des Truffiers is an absolute top wine from Languedoc based on Syrah (95%) and Grenache (5%). The ultimate proof that this region contains a beautiful terroir. It is the top model of Château la Négly and this wine always scores extra high with various wine journalists and has already received the magical 100 out of 100 from Robert Parker. The wine is only released in the absolute top years.
The grapes come from vineyards that are more than 50 years old and stay in the barrels and cellars for around 3 years before a very limited number of bottles come to the Netherlands (only around 2000 bottles are made of this wine and all bottles are therefore also numbered). ). In the glass, the Clos des Truffiers has an intense purple-red color with intense aromas of black raspberries, blackberries in combination with shades of roasted coffee beans, chocolate, toasted wood in a full, decadent style. Velvet mouthfeel in the mouth that caresses the palate. The tannins demonstrate high quality. A wine that constantly evolves in the mouth. Compared to the La Porte du Ciel (also a Syrah-driven wine), the wine is more rounded and sexy and more exuberant.

Similar in style to the 2011, the 2015 Languedoc Clos des Truffières is as always 100% Syrah from a vineyard near Pézenas. Scheduled to be bottled in February or March of 2017, it has sensational notes of blackcurrants, cassis, lead pencil and graphite, with more obvious structure and minerality than the Porte du Ciel. It’s a gorgeous wine that should unquestionably be one of the wines of the vintage.
