Description
The vineyards for this wine are located at 350m above sea level, on a southern slope. The vines are 15 years old. The harvest of the Sangiovese grapes takes place in the first days of October. After fermentation in steel tanks, the wine is aged in oak barrels for 8 months. The wine is bottled about 3 months before the sale.
The Fattoi Rosso di Montalcino is a beautiful, elegant, juicy wine with full flavors of red and black fruit. Spicy tones and a nice long finish. Uncork the bottle at least 1 to 2 hours before serving. It is recommended to decant this wine so that the wine is well aerated. This beautiful Rosso di Montalcino from Fattoi is delicious with pasta, chicken, mushrooms and truffles, hearty risottos and pork or veal dishes. So very versatile and a true pleasure to drink!

From: The Rise of Rosso di Montalcino (Oct 2022)
The 2020 Rosso di Montalcino keeps me at the edge of the glass with a classic mix of wild strawberries, worn leather, cedar and cloves. This is silky in texture, with masses of ripe red and black fruits that gain lift through cooling herbal tones. The 2020 finishes incredibly long and harmonious, with sweet tannins that perfectly frame the lingering licorice and medicinal cherry tones. Very nice.
