This 2018 2nd Grand Cru Classe Pauillac Rerserve de la Comtesse was made by Chateau Pichon-Longueville Comtesse. The winery was taken over by champagne winery Louis Roederer in 2007. This beautiful Pauillac is a blend of 43% Cabernet Sauvignon , 47% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot . The wine has a very refined and pure bouquet of black cherry, cedar and violet aromas and is perfumed and sensual. Medium-bodied on the palate with supple, rounded tannins enveloped by layers of tobacco-tinged black fruit that transitions into a long, lightly spiced and also soft finish. The taste is medium to full, the taste is packed with juicy black fruit and many earth / mineral nuances, and ends with a wonderful freshness and a quiet intensity. Very impressive. A delicious red wine with great aging potential. Keeping this wine a little longer will certainly benefit it!

Réserve de la Comtesse is a wine that reflects the elegance and complexity of Pichon Comtesse de Lalande, but is more accessible in its youth. This wine is perfect for those who want to enjoy the classic style of a top Bordeaux without the long waiting time that the grand vin often requires to reach its full potential. It is an ideal accompaniment to grilled meats, stews, and mature cheeses, but can also be enjoyed solo to fully appreciate its refined character.
