Description
Ch. Gazin was once a barn of the order of the "Hospitaliers de Saint-Jean de Jérusalem", their sign (a red cross) on the label still testifies to this. With its 24.4 ha in one piece, it is one of the largest properties in Pomerol. The owner is Mr Nicolas de Baillencourt. The bottom is of very high quality, stones with clay with the typical bottom layer full of "crasse de fer". In the 1970s, the owner even sold a piece of this to Ch. Peter. This is a Pomerol with very high class. Château Gazin is adjacent to Château Petrus. In fact, a lot has already been said. First name, that's how you can safely call the taste of this intense wine.
The 2020 Gazin is a fantastic Pomerol with intensity, power and elegance. As befits a Pomerol, this is a Merlot driven we with a little Cabernet Franc & Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot. The wine is deep purple-black in the glass. on the nose black plums, stewed cherries with hints of spice cake, chocolate box and fresh black pepper. The medium to full bodied palate has a firm backbone of firm, grainy tannins and plenty of freshness that supports the muscular black fruit after some rolling and a little more oxygen, also aromas of complex flavors of blackberry, black olives, mushrooms and bark.

Deep purple-black colored, the 2020 Gazin rolls effortlessly out of the glass with upfront scents of baked black plums, stewed black cherries and mulberries, plus hints of spice cake, chocolate box and cracked black pepper. The medium to full-bodied palate has a solid backbone of firm, grainy tannins and plenty of freshness supporting the muscular black fruits, finishing savory.
