Following the wine-growing tradition of his Castilian ancestors, Carlos Moro made his dream come true, and in 1988 he founded the Matarromera bodega in Valbuena de Duero (Valladolid) with a clear goal in mind: to prepare quality wines with the most advanced technology and the traditional cooking methods. Sustainability is very important to Grupo Matarromera and the Matarromera Group was chosen in 2007 by IESE [Institute of Higher Business Studies] as the most environmentally friendly organization in Spain. The winery currently generates more energy than it consumes.

Matarromera Crianza is one of the flagship wines of the family and shows Carlos Moro's vision of the balance between the fruit and the wood. Matarromera Crianza is aged in 225 liter barrels made from French and American wood from the most prestigious forests. These barrels are fine-grained and light to medium roasted. During the aging process, the wine is kept in rooms with controlled humidity and temperature. The Matarromera Crianza is a 100% Tempranillo and it is aged for 14 months in barrels and then a further 12 months in bottles. Please note this is the 0.375ml version

In the glass, the wine has a ruby red color with striking violet notes indicating excellent aging potential. In the nose, Matarromera Crianza is intense and very complex with fine aromas of ripe black fruit. In the mouth it is perfectly balanced with spicy flavors and soft roasted notes. A tasty wine with an intense and long aftertaste. The wine has a fine tannic structure with the characteristic iconic elegance and intensity seen in the Matarromera wines, developed with only the best Ribera del Duero grapes. The Matarromera crianza is very mature and is one hell of a wine.

ABOUT GRUPPO MATARROMERA

Following the wine-growing tradition of his Castilian ancestors, Carlos Moro made his dream come true, and in 1988 he founded the Matarromera bodega in Valbuena de Duero (Valladolid) with a clear goal in mind: to prepare quality wines with the most advanced technology and the traditional cooking methods. The biggest challenge Carlos Moro faced was his choice of new barrels for the maturation of his wines, an initiative that was new in the region at the time. Another key to Matarromera's immediate success was its excellent vineyards, right in the heart of the "golden mile" of Ribera del Duero. Today, a quarter of a century later, Carlos Moro continues to design projects, and continues to produce more and more sophisticated wines. Matarromera's focus on quality wines stems from the vineyard itself. Thanks to the work begun by Carlos Moro's ancestors, loving care for the vineyard has been a constant factor. No contrived in the Bodega but a good wine comes from a top vineyard.

At Grupo Matarromera, sustainability is very important and the Matarromera Group was chosen in 2007 by IESE [Institute of Higher Business Studies] as the most environmentally friendly organization in Spain. The winery currently generates more energy than it consumes. Each bodega of the Matarromera group is a sustainable building and is designed to utilize natural lighting, provide optimal insulation and use both rainwater and wastewater effectively.

Recently, the Spanish winery has launched a new cosmetic line called Esdor. The products of this line use the antioxidant-rich grape skins that remain after wine making. According to the company, the red grape skins are a source of polyphenols. These are said to be effective against aging and reducing the elasticity of the skin. They keep the skin soft and supple. The cosmetic line includes nourishing creams, moisturizing creams and eye contour products. Natural ingredients are used for cosmetics.
