2016 Giacomo Borgogno & Figli Derthona Timorasso Colli Tortonesi

Borgogno is one of the very first and probably the oldest wineries in Piemonte. The Italian winery strongly believes in the classic and traditional philosophy which is its strength; for years the observance of these traditions has been passed on to the next generations. Borgogno owns 13 hectares of vineyards of which 9 are planted with the Nebbiolo grape. The wines are all vinified in a traditional way to produce unique and structured wines. The wines are produced sustainably.

Borgogno is one of the producers who rediscovered the white wine made from the timorasso grape. The timorasso grape from the region around Tortona has a fantastic potential to ripen and is therefore described as the 'white Barolo'. From the grapes that were almost completely forgotten in the 80s, Borgogno has been making this elegant but powerful white wine since 2015. Soil: Clay and limestone. Planting: 5000 vines per hectare. Golden yellow in color. Aromas of tropical fruit, apple, pear and honey. Fresh acids, elegance and a persistent aftertaste.
