These Riesling grapes are harvested from the Großer Gewächs-Age "Kirschgarten" with a must weight of 144° Oechsle. After a few weeks of slow fermentation, the wine was kept on the yeast until just before bottling.

The Philipp Kuhn Kirschgarten Riesling Beerenauslese is a noble sweet Riesling. Dried, perfect raisins result in this liqueur-like specialty. White wine with a strong sweetness, but very lively with a lively acidity and low alcohol content. Honey scent with smoky notes. Elegant aromas of overripe yellow fruit, especially the exotic notes enchant the palate. This wine has great aging potential and will only show its true greatness in 10-20 years. The Philipp Kuhn Kirschgarten Riesling Beerenauslese is an ideal accompaniment to foie gras, cheese, creamy soups with brioche and all kinds of sweet desserts. The Kirschgarten Riesling Beerenauslese has already been voted the best dessert wine (Susswein) in Germany twice by Vinum.

ABOUT PHILIPP KUHN

At the age of 20, PHILIPP KUHN was already solely responsible for the winemaking and for the vineyards on his parents' estate. With the 1992 he delivered his first vintage. As a relatively young winemaker, after 27 vintages, he can call himself an old hand in the industry, who has made a significant contribution to the success of "Germany's little wine wonder".

PHILIPP KUHN is one of the rising stars of the German wine scene. The richly decorated national and international awards are lined up with him, so that in the small wine tasting room there is hardly any space left in the display cases and on the walls. 10 x German Red Wine Award and 4 x German Riesling Award are proof of one of the most consistent wine qualities in Germany. Philipp Kuhn - the star of the Palatinate. Since the early 1990s, he has been making powerful Pinot wines and fine Rieslings in the Palatinate. At the age of 19, Philipp Kuhn, born in 1972, was thrown into the deep end: Because his father was seriously ill, he had to take over responsibility for the parental company. The passionate winemaker with a distinct sense of tradition then worked his way to the top of Germany over the past 20 years.

He now distinguishes himself not only with his Burgunders and Rieslings, but also makes special wines from international grape varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, Sauvignon Blanc and even Viognier. Kuhn applies a strict quality selection, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, leading to low yields of even less than 40 hl/ha. All that matters at Phillipp Kuhn is quality.
