Description
Didier Dagueneau is a world-famous French winemaker who has left his mark on Pouilly-Fumé. He passed away in 2008, but his son Benjamin, who had been working for his father in the company for years, took over the company with the same passion and talent. Every wine lover knows the magnificent Pouilly-Fumés from Domaine Dagueneau. They are among the best and most sought-after Sauvignon Blanc wines and are on the menu of every serious star restaurant. The Rolls Royce of Pouilly Fumé. We can only obtain a few bottles of this. This is due to the simple reason that only a very limited number of bottles are produced and then distributed among all the top wine merchants around the world. This is already the case with Blanc Fumé de Pouilly, but even more extreme with Buisson Renard and Silex from Didier Dagueneau
There is nothing ordinary about the 'basic' Dagueneau cuvée, the Vineyard of Blanc Fume de Pouilly. This is the only cuvée where the vineyard is situated on two soil types - Marne chalk and flint. The Fume Blanc is a rare expression of minerality and fruit combined with maturity. One immediately recognizes the signature of this great Pouilly Fumé with citrus notes on the nose and deep intensity on the palate. The wine has a velvety mouthfeel and a wonderful crisp full finish. These wines only get better with age.
FACT: The wine is in our conditioned Wine Warehouse and if you come to pick up the wine you will often also receive a nice discount . You will see your discount immediately when you choose 'Pick up' on the checkout page. We are located in Dordrecht almost next to the A16 with plenty of parking. Click here for our address.

Didier Dagueneau is always slow to release his wines, and I have not yet tasted his 2005s. Judging from the two 2004 wines I tasted he certainly got the better of that tricky vintage, while capturing in his entry-level 2004 Blanc Fume de Pouilly the bright, high acidity and intense minerality possible in an inherently lean, well-watered year. A nose of fresh lime, sorrel and nettle leads to a pungently-concentrated, bracing palate, citric and herbal, with smoky, salty chalky mineral suggestions. This finishes long and penetrating, impressive if almost a bit strident.

Domaine Didier Dagueneau is located in Saint-Andelain which falls under the Pouilly-Fumé (dry white wine type with AOC classification). The area is characterized by the mainly flint clay soil, partly responsible for the characteristic taste of the wines from this area.
Since the death of the eponymous owner Didier Dagueneau in 2008, the winery has been run by Benjamin Dagueneau. His father Didier was known in the wine world for his great wines. His son Benjamin is at least as talented and continues to work passionately in the way his father did. Of course you can taste that in the fantastic wines that this winery produces. The real wine lovers certainly know the beautiful Pouilly-Fumés of Domaine Dagueneau. They are among the most sought after and the best Sauvignon Blanc wines and are on the menu of renowned restaurants.
