Valentin en Enciso hebben meer dan 33 jaar ervaring en achtergrond in Rioja en door hun voornamen samen te voegen is de naam Valenciso ontstaan.Valenciso, opgericht in 1998, ligt in Ollauri, op slechts 4 km van Haro in het hart van Rioja Alta. Valenciso heeft als doel uiting te geven aan deelegantie en delicaatheid van de Noordelijke Tempranillo en focust zich op het produceren van premium, unieke en elegante Tempranillo’s.Valenciso maakt het verschil door organische en biodynamische praktijken in de wijngaard te integreren, door vergisting in betonnen vaten, en door de wijn enkel in Franse eikenhouten vaten te laten rijpen.
De Valenciso Reserva 10 Jaar (Anos Despues) is een 100% pure Tempranillo van de kalkrijke gronden rond Haro uit de Rioja Alta. Men kiest bij CompañÃa Bodeguera de Valenciso bewust voor kwaliteit ipv kwantiteit dus vindt er aggresieve snoei plaats (opbrengst slechts 38hl per hectare). Dit unieke project in Rioja Alta behelste in het begin maar één doel,; het maken van één wijn van enkel tempranillo en dan een uitstekende Rioja Reserva op de markt brengen. De druiven worden manueel geoogst. De wijn wordt pas 10 jaar na de oogst gebotteld. Fermentatie voor 60 maanden in betonnen vaten. Rijping 40 maanden in houten vaten dus in totaal 10 jaar ook de titel verklaard van deze unieke Rioja. Deze 2012 is dus pas eind 2022 beschikbaar gekomen.

The subtle, elegant and complex 2012 10 Años Después (10 years after!) matured for four years in concrete followed by four more years in Caucasian oak barrels that polished it. It has an incredible 15% alcohol, which doesn't show at all, and the wine comes through as balanced and elegant, powerful too but with no excess. It finished very tasty. 4,500 bottles were filled in June 2021.
Luis ValentÃn and Carmen Enciso are Valenciso, which is a combination of both of their last names. They have farmed their 31 hectares of vines organically since 2017, but their wines do not carry certification. They produce some 150,000 bottles that age in 1,500 barriques. They are one of the modern-classical or classical-modern Rioja producers.

Winemakers with over 25 years of experience in La Rioja. In 1998 they revived an old winery and gave it the name Valenciso which is a combination of the two surnames (Valentin and Enciso). The vineyards and bodega are located in Ollauri, 4 km from Haro in the north of La Rioja Alta. An area that differs from the rest of the Rioja by a climate with Atlantic influences and Mediterranean heat. The vineyards are located on a clay-calcareous terroir, so ideal for growing grapes. CompañÃa Bodeguera de Valenciso works on a small scale and authentic with a lot of passion. The wine continues to receive international high ratings with 90+ ratings from Penin and Parker.
