Château Doisy Védrines is gevestigd in het Franse plaatsje Barsac, een gemeente in het departement Gironde in de regio Graves. Château Doisy Védrines is een pracht domein uit de Sauternes. Het terroir bestaat uit klei met kobalt en kiezels. Het château heeft de wijngaard van 25 hectare aangeplant met Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc en Muscadelle en produceert uitsluitend witte wijnen. De wijnstokken zijn gemiddeld zo’n 40 jaar oud. De druiven worden handmatig geplukt en streng geselecteerd. De wijnmaker maakt gebruik van een zeer lange gisting zonder toevoegingen.
De Doisy-Védrines 2023 is bloemig, elegant en stijlvol. Jasmijn, gekonfijte sinaasappel, munt, kamille en licht honingzoete, bloemige boventonen sieren deze uiterst voortreffelijke, verleidelijke Barsac. Geweldig.

From: The Dalmatian Vintage: Bordeaux 2023 (Apr 2024)
The 2023 Doisy-Védrines doesn't quite deliver the complexity of the Doisy-Daëne on the nose, though it opens nicely with aeration to reveal lemon sherbet, saffron and light tangerine aromas. It is not as immediate as other Sauternes in this vintage, but it does exude elegance. The palate is well balanced with a very pure, tensile opening. This seems to be a less "fat" Doisy-Védrines compared to other vintages, possessing a fine bead of acidity. It’s lightly spiced with a tang of marmalade and quince toward the finish. This is a noble Barsac in the making.

The 2023 Doisy-Védrines is floral, elegant and classy. Jasmine, orange confit, mint, chamomile and lightly honeyed, floral overtones all grace this utterly exquisite, beguiling Barsac. Terrific.

Château Doisy Védrines is located in the French town of Barsac, a commune in the Gironde department in the Graves region. Château Doisy Védrines is a beautiful domain from the Sauternes. The terroir consists of clay with cobalt and pebbles. The château has planted the 25 hectare vineyard with Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle and produces only white wines. The vines are about 40 years old on average.
The grapes are picked manually and selected rigorously. The winemaker uses a very long fermentation without additives. The wine is certified organic and is aged for at least 6 years in oak barrels
